Arthur George Henry Heffer was born in 1920 in Burwell (Newmarket Q3-1920 3B:924), son of Henry James and Ada May HEFFER (née FULLER), of 14 Council Houses, Martin Road, Burwell.

His parents, father [24-7-1894] a farm labourer, mother [29-1-1895] and sister Mildred A [13-10-1926] were living at 15 Martin Road, Burwell for the 1939 register. There are three closed records.



Taken prisoner on 15th February 1942 at the surrender of Singapore to the Japanese, he died of diarrhoea and mal-nutrition at Tarso Camp on the Burma-Siam railway.
